Basics:
Rolling stock Clearances:
The graphic at left shows the basic clearances required for 7mm scale
rolling stock in millimeters (mm). To see a larger version of a thumbnail click on the
image.
Notes:
The standard dimensions shown are indicative of UK practice (and influenced
lines). Those measurements shown in bold type are minimums. All
other dimensions are maximums. Minimum clearance (from the car body) to stud, or
conducting rails is 2mm.
Railway Buildings
The graphic at left shows the basic clearances for station
buildings. To see a larger version click on the image.
If maximum or minimum is not indicated
dimensions are typical. Distances between the platform edge, and or other structures may
need to be increased on curves.
Bridges and Overheads
The graphic at left shows the basic clearances for bridge piers, and overhead structures
such as road bridges, and any other overhead form of gantry.
If maximum or minimum is not indicated
dimensions are typical. Distances between the bridge piers may need to be increased on
curves.
Double Track Lines
The graphic at left shows the basic clearances for double tracked
lines.
Dimensions are maximum for straight
track. Double track centers are 80mm. For wider centers or curved track, increase arch
dimensions as necessary.
